Car Rental Terms

By the present rental agreement, the company rents out the car mentioned on the first page of this agreement to the renter. The lessee, after examining the car, states that it is in excellent condition and fully complies with his preferences, under the following terms:

Driver Age

The driver of the rented car must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
Young driver fee (up to 23 years old): 10€ per day
Senior driver fee (74–78 years old): 10€ per day

Driving Licence

The driver's license for the rented car must have been issued at least one (1) year before the rental date. Non-EU citizens are required to produce an international driving license along with a valid national driving license.

Fuel Policy

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of pick-up.

Pickup and Return

The lessee must return the rented vehicle in the same condition as received, with all its components (indicative tools, wheels and accessories) at the agreed point stated on the first page of the agreement. If the lessee does not deliver the car to that place and to an employee of Let's Drive, it is deemed that the lessee has left/abandoned the car, with the corresponding legal consequences in the event of loss or financial debt to the company.

Lease Duration

This contract refers to the duration of the lease. If the lessee wishes to extend the lease, he is required to notify the company 24 hours before the specified return time. The lessor has the right to terminate this lease unilaterally and unconditionally if it considers that the lessee is detrimental to the interests of the company, or does not comply with the rules of road traffic and violates the terms of this contract.

Lessee's Obligations

The lessee has an obligation throughout the lease to protect the car and to monitor its mechanical condition (oil, water, etc.), as well as to check the condition of the tires and their safety during use.
When not using the car, the lessee must take all precautionary measures to avoid theft of the car or its parts.
All fines and administrative penalties arising from the driver's fault are fully borne by the lessee.
The lessee is forbidden to make modifications to the rented car, to perform mechanical or other work, to replace parts, or to tamper with the odometer.
The lessee is liable and obliged to indemnify the company for damages arising from his liability.

Payments - Costs

The lessee has to pay:

Petrol cost during the present lease
The charges for deliveries and receipts if they are charged to the contract
The insurance indemnity in case of full insurance acceptance
The rate of tax corresponding to all of the above
If the lessee delays the return of the car after the agreed return time, 20% of the daily cost is charged per hour

Security Deposit

At pick-up, the main driver must leave a refundable security deposit on their credit card, according to the selected car group category. Cash and debit cards are not accepted.

Payment methods

When renting vehicles via Let’s Drive, payments are made exclusively by charging a credit or debit card if the reservation is made via our website. (We accept Visa and MasterCard; Diners Club and American Express cards are not accepted.)

Please note that for all car rentals, at the start of the rental, you will need to provide a credit card issued in the driver’s name, regardless of the type of card or payment method you used to complete the payment on the company page.

Cancellations Policy

You can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed vehicle pick up time. If you cancel your reservation in less than 48 hours, Let's Drive follows the cancellation policy below:

If you cancel your reservation in less than 48 hours, the charge is 55.00 €
If you cancel your reservation in less than 24 hours, the charge is 70.00 €
If the prepayment amount is less than € 70.00, there will be no additional charges or refunds

You are not entitled to any refund in the case of no-show.

No-show means:

You want to cancel but inform us when your rental is almost ready to start
You do not turn up at the agreed place and time to start the rental
You do not present the necessary supporting documents / paperwork at the start of rental
You do not present a valid credit card in the name of the driver with adequate funds to block the guaranteed amount

Prohibited Uses

During the lease, the car is forbidden to be used:

By any person under the age of 21
By anyone who is not a qualified licensed driver, or by anyone whose licence has been issued within 12 months from rental date, or whose licence has been withheld, revoked or suspended within the previous year
To instruct an unlicensed person in operating the vehicle
Against the terms and conditions of the agreement
To carry persons or property for hire
To carry more persons than it is licensed for
To transport heavy luggage or badly smelling goods, narcotics and guns
To tow other cars or trailers
In any race test or contest
By any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs
By any person without the advance authorization of the lessor
For any use against the Hellenic Law
Driving outside Greece and transporting/moving the vehicle by boat or other means is not allowed without the written permission of Lets Drive
Rental vehicles can only be used on the main road network (asphalt roads within the city / provincial network, national roads, motorways, etc.). Regardless of the vehicle category, it is not allowed to use them on unpaved roads, off-road terrain etc. For more details please check the contract.

Movement on roads of lower classes is allowed only in cases when the local authorities force you to use such alternate roads due to roadblocks etc. In such cases, please adjust your speed to the road conditions, taking special care for poor road conditions (holes, bumps etc.) that can cause large and expensive damages to the rented vehicle.

Insurance

The driver has the right to choose between the following types of insurance:

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)

CDW with exemption from liability for the insurance company of €800.00 for the categories Mini / Mini Automatic / Economy / Economy Automatic / Cabrio (MDMR, MDAR, ECMR, EDMR, EDAR, NTMR), exemption from liability for the insurance company of €1,000.00 for the categories Compact / Compact Automatic / Intermediate (NTAR, CCMR, CCAR, CDMR, CDAR), exemption from liability for the insurance company of €1,200.00 for the categories Intermediate SUV / SUV / SUV Automatic (CFMR, CFAR, IDMR, IDAR, IFMR, IFAR), exemption from liability for the insurance company of €1,500.00 for the categories Premium / Premium Automatic (JDMR, JDAR) and exemption from liability for the insurance company of €1,700.00 for the categories Mini Van 7 pax and Mini Van 9 pax (FVMR, LVMR, LVAR). The exemption is reserved for the rental period through a credit card which must be issued in the name of the driver. VAT included (24%).

MCDW (Mandatory Collision Damage Waiver)

MCDW with reduced excess amount for the insurance company of €400.00 for the categories Mini / Mini Automatic / Economy / Economy Automatic / Cabrio (MDMR, MDAR, ECMR, EDMR, EDAR, NTMR) with a daily charge of €10.00, reduced excess amount for the insurance company of €500.00 for the categories Compact / Compact Automatic / Intermediate (NTAR, CCMR, CCAR, CDMR, CDAR) with a daily charge of €12.00, reduced excess amount for the insurance company of €600.00 for the categories Intermediate SUV / SUV / SUV Automatic (CFMR, CFAR, IDMR, IDAR, IFMR, IFAR) with a daily charge of €13.00, reduced excess amount for the insurance company of €700.00 for the categories Premium / Premium Automatic (JDMR, JDAR) with a daily charge of €15.00, and reduced excess amount for the insurance company of €800.00 for the categories Mini Van 7 pax and Mini Van 9 pax (FVMR, LVMR, LVAR) with a daily charge of €15.00. The exemption is reserved for the rental period through a credit card which must be issued in the name of the driver. VAT included (24%).

SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver)

SCDW with reduction of excess amount to €0.00 for all vehicle categories, with a deposit amount of €250.00, and a daily charge of €15.00 for the categories Mini / Mini Automatic / Economy / Economy Automatic / Cabrio (MDMR, MDAR, ECMR, EDMR, EDAR, NTMR), a daily charge of €16.00 for the categories Compact / Compact Automatic / Intermediate (NTAR, CCMR, CCAR, CDMR, CDAR), a daily charge of €18.00 for the categories Intermediate SUV / SUV / SUV Automatic (CFMR, CFAR, IDMR, IDAR, IFMR, IFAR), and a daily charge of €20.00 for the categories Premium / Premium Automatic / Mini Van 7 pax / Mini Van 9 pax (JDMR, JDAR, FVMR, LVMR, LVAR). The exemption is reserved for the rental period through a credit card which must be issued in the name of the driver. VAT included (24%).

⚠️ Credit Card Guarantee

With every insurance package selected, the renter must present a valid credit card issued in the driver's name at the time of vehicle pick-up, on which a security deposit will be blocked.

The deposit amount corresponds to the deductible (excess) of the selected insurance. If the deductible amount is lower than €250, a minimum amount of €250 will be blocked.

This requirement applies to all insurance packages, including the Full Coverage package.

The amount will be released after the end of the rental, provided that no:

traffic fines
damages not covered by the insurance
breaches of the rental agreement terms

Any insurance coverage reaches up to the amount of the financial compensation mentioned in the insurance contract of the vehicle. The lessee is liable for damages greater than those above.

Car Accidents

In the event of an accident or other incident, the lessee has the obligation to:

Take pictures of the accident
Call the police
Record names and addresses from eyewitnesses
Do not accept any responsibility for the accident until responsibility has been imputed by the officers
Communicate urgently with the company
Record all necessary information about the accident (name of other driver, car registration number, etc.)
Submit to the company, within 24 hours of the accident, a signed memo describing the incident

INSURANCE COVERAGE

Renter is being covered during rental period by insurance policy in accordance with Law 489/1976 article 5 (2) for the loss of or damage to third parties and damage to property of third parties, otherwise by the minimum insurance cover provided by the applicable law at the time of the lease.

Other Terms

The lessor company is not responsible for any loss or damage to the items of the customers who are on the rented car, whether they have been abandoned at its offices before or after the contract.
The lessor company made every effort and took all possible precautions to avoid mechanical damage to the car.
Delivery problems may require us to cancel or replace a detained car.
For any dispute arising out of this lease, the courts of the city of Chania are competent to resolve it.
The lessor company is under no obligation to return money before the termination of the agreed lease.
There is no insurance in cases where explicit reference is made to the Greek Traffic law.
